Setting trail is how the Harriets keep Wednesdays alive. You do not need to be an expert, fast, or terrifyingly organised.
Pick a date, find a co-hare if you want one, choose a sensible runsite, and keep the trail walker-friendly. The pack will forgive almost anything except no beer, no food, and no way home.
Keep it clear
Use simple marks, sensible checks, and enough flour or chalk that walkers and newer hashers are not abandoned to the jungle gods.
Keep it social
A good Harriets trail is not a race. Aim for a route that lets runners stretch out, walkers keep moving, and everyone make it back for circle.
Keep it practical
Choose a runsite with transport, space to gather, and a realistic On On nearby. Bonus points if people can find it without an expedition team.
How to set a run
1. Choose a date
Check the Hareline and pick an open Wednesday. If it is your first time, ask for a co-hare or choose a familiar area.
2. Pick a runsite
Look for somewhere easy to describe, reachable by MRT, bus, taxi, or car, and suitable for the pack to gather before trail.
3. Plan trail and On On
Work out the route, the checks, the likely timing, and where people will eat or drink afterwards. Keep the pack’s mixed pace in mind.
4. Send the details
Share the run number, date, hares, runsite, map link, transport notes, On On details, and any special instructions so the website and WhatsApp can be updated.
What to send us
Send these details as early as you can. The clearer the information, the fewer confused messages later.

First time setting trail?
Good. Fresh hares keep the kennel alive. You can co-hare with someone experienced, reuse a familiar area, and keep the trail simple. Nobody needs a masterpiece. We need a route, a circle, and a way to get to makan.
Ready to set trail?
Check the Hareline, choose an open Wednesday, and send the details. Glory is unlikely, but appreciation is possible.
